Cooking

It's been more than 1 month since I started cooking on a daily basis. So far, things seem ok - no food poisoning etc haha, and honestly I really like some of the dishes I made. Some notable ones:

1. Curry
Sorry for bragging, but it was awesome! Hadn't had curry for quite a while and eating it in a cold autumn night was certainly awesome! (Sh*t, Jon infected me with the "awesome word" disease=.=) I am not talking about some ready-made curry paste here, but curry made from actual curry powder brought over from Malaysia (thanks a million to Hui Yen^^), cooked together with evaporated milk, chicken, tomatoes, and potatoes that melt in the soup and made the whole texture super creamy. Awesome haha.

2. Soup
Of various types. So far, tried seaweed, ABC and lotus soup. Seaweed soup was somewhat mediocre (no idea why=.=) but ABC and lotus were really great. The angmos must have been puzzled to see us keeping chicken bones after slicing the meat off chicken thighs lol. But seriously, none of the canned soups can match the ones we made. Planning to do black bean soup someday=)

3. Prawn biscuits (??!!)
Literal translation from Chinese. Basically it's small prawns fried with wheat flour, spring onion and onion in clumps. My mom cooks that often. Malaysia's shrimps taste better though, sweeter. Nevertheless, Chee Leong, Hui Yen and Shari seemed to enjoy the "prawn biscuits" I made=) Will do more of those if I can find time, good stuff though fattening haha.

A bit lazy to write on. Gonna go back to my work, so ciao for now.
